The Role:

The District Supervisor is responsible for overseeing several stores within the Ardene chain. The District Supervisor’s responsibilities include managing sales and operations in order to achieve financial targets, overseeing merchandise and marketing placement, motivating, coaching and training staff, handling personnel issues and loss prevention.

The District Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the stores. The District Supervisor is a role model and leader and must have the ability to solve problems, make informed decisions and manage the in-store talent effectively in order to achieve the best results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieving budgeted sales targets per store;
  • Retaining and attracting talent by motivating the team, monitoring their overall performance and actively sourcing new talent;
  • Using the employee manual, conducting orientation and trainings as well as coaching the management staff on effective ways to maximize sales and on the execution of daily tasks;
  • Observing and assessing talent to build succession planning;
  • Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to as directed per head office and the employee manual;
  • Complying with policy and regulations as per the company’s employee manual with regards to integrity and loss prevention.
  • Ensuring a good flow of communication with all departments with Head Office;
  • Overseeing merchandise and marketing placement and displays;
  • Coordinating new store openings and/ or closing of existing locations;
  • Solving problems that affect the stores service, efficiency, and productivity;
  • Ensuring that physical facilities comply with safety and environmental codes and ordinances in each store;
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, climb a ladder, move and handle fixtures and boxes of merchandise (weighing up to 30 pounds) which entails lifting, and general in-store maintenance (such as changing light bulbs);
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Regional Director.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of prior Supervisory experience, preferably in a retail environment;
  • Post secondary degree or certification in business administration or related field;
  • Experience with training and developing work force, building relationships and managing talent;
  • Experience with merchandising and successfully managing store operations;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent customer service abilities;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

 

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb a ladder;
  • Move, lift and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store (weighing up to 30 pounds).

Availability Requirements: 

  • Days, evenings and weekends.
