Description:

WHO YOU ARE:

We are currently looking for a Senior Payroll Coordinator to join our team. The Senior Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for helping process bi-weekly payrolls and ensuring compliance with all applicable government regulations and support with payroll.

  • Ensure correct data for bi-weekly payroll for Canadian and US store employees.
  • Reconcile and validate payroll prior to transmission and ensure payroll submission is sent before the deadline.
  • Update commission eligibility for Canadian & US store employees and ensure timely payout.
  • Prepare manual checks for various situations (i.e. bank rejects, stop payments, payment errors).
  • Process employee terminations and issue ROEs.
  • Train the team to process the bi-weekly payroll for all store employees.
  • Perform accurate and timely reporting as necessary.
  • Update all data on Dayforce to ensure compliance with provincial / states legislation and company policies.
  • Communicate payroll and benefits information with employees and respond to employee inquiries on a daily basis.
  • Group insurance administration including enrollment of new employees, changing insurance coverage following life events or terminations, preparing letters and following up with employees on leave to ensure payment of premiums and continuation of coverage during the leave period.
  • Worker’s Compensation administration including support of accident reports, calculation and payment of CNESST claims.
  • Answer government inquiries.
  • Ensure all adjustments to the payroll register are completed prior to the last payroll cycle of the year.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in payroll
  • College diploma or higher in a related field of study
  • Retail Industry Experience considered an asset
  • Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) certification considered an asset
  • American Payroll Association (APA) certification considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce considered an asset)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communications skills in English and in French
  • Communication skills in Spanish considered an asset
