WHO YOU ARE:
The HR Data Analyst Intern will play a key role in supporting the HR function with datadriven decision making; helping to build the foundation for a more structured, data-driven culture. This role partners closely with Talent Aquisition, Total Rewards, and Payroll to deliver accurate reporting, insights, and analysis related to compensation, HR Metrics, and workforce trends. The ideal candidate is analytical, detailoriented, and eager to learn, with a strong foundation in Excel and a passion for turning data into meaningful insights. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
HR Data Preparation, Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, audit, clean, and validate datasets regularly to ensure accuracy and consistency. Identify errors or outliers and support corrective actions.
- Pull recurring and ad hoc reports, analyze data, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Analyze HR & Compensation data to identify trends or outliers, and present findings in a clear, concise manner for HR and business leaders.
- Support ongoing HR reporting, including wage related reports, workforce metrics, and budget tracking.
Total Rewards Analysis
- Support and participate in wage compression analysis, particularly related to minimum wage changes and other annual compensation practices such as Merit.
- Assist with maintaining and auditing the existing salary structure to ensure internal equity, consistency, and market alignment.
- Contribute to compensation analysis for new store openings or revised store salary structures.
- Analyze employee benefits programs against external industry benchmarks.
- Prepare summary insights and support recommendations for potential improvements or adjustments to benefits offerings.
Tools, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Support the use of reporting tools, dashboards, and templates to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Assist with process improvements related to HR reporting, documentation, and data audits.
- Support the shift from our current Payroll system to a new HRIS by revising our current reporting methods and making suggestions for improvement.
- Redesign reporting templates and create new guidelines or tools to align with new HRIS related processes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Currently in progress of completing a bachelor’s degree in a related field;
- Some relevant work experience or related internships is an asset;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications;
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, data validation, pivot tables);
- Experience with power BI an asset;
- Available for an 8 month internship, ideally full-time (with flexibility to accommodate part-time class schedule);
- Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail;
- Analytical approach, passionate about Data Analysis and Data Integrity;
- Independent, self-starter;
- Fluently bilingual in English and French (spoken & written);
- Ability to work in-office (Laval);
